When opening the box, the first thing that came to mind was, Gosh these things are tiny. I have eaten SlimFast products before including other types of snack bars. The snack bars I had eaten though weren't as tiny as these were. Therefore I was surprised that the small size was supposed to curb my appetite between meals.
Well the bars were rather tasty. It was more granola bar like than candy bar, resembling a Kudos. The chocolate is satisfying mixed with the nut flavor. It was gone in a couple of bites. I ate it around 3pm, an hour and a half after lunch, which is normally when I start getting a little hungry again. It did satisfy the immediate cravings, although I do wish it had lasted a little longer. I tried it again the next day with smaller bites and that seemed to help more.
The only thing is, there are only 6 bars in the box so it can be a bit pricey if you snack more than once in a day.

I didn't have high expectations for this because sometimes with these 'healthy' snack bars it could go either way but this one was actually pretty good. I found myself reaching for this mid-afternoon instead of going to the vending machine for a candy bar. I shared this with my co-workers and they liked it as well.

These are like a Snickers lite. If you like Snickers bars these are probably a better option if you cannot live without. If you trying to eat healthy then these don't qualify.

If you are looking for a diet product this is NOT for you! Sure it is 100 calories but this is not a nutrious 100 calories. It is packed full of corn syrup and high fructose corn syrup. Lots of carbs (15g) and it is super tiny so you will be hungry 5 seconds after you eat. It tastes pretty good so I guess if you need a chocolate fix and you need to have a small bite of something and don't want calories this might do it but I think you are better off finding a different bar with more protein and fiber that has a chocolate flavor in it like a Luna Bar. I seriously think there are better ways to spend your 100 calories.

Normally, I would expect a Slim Fast brand of anything to be fairly nutritious, but I noticed one of the ingredients of their snack bar is palm kernel oil, which should be avoided if you're watching your cholesterol. I have been eating these snack bars pretty regularly on my diet because they "curb" my need for chocolate and taste really good....BUT, when I went for my check-up, I lost weight, but my cholesterol had gone up 20 points! This is about the only thing that I can figure contributed to this rise in my cholesterol.....Eat these sparingly!
